The next World Cup is the Speed World Cup in Kraków. This will be the first Speed World Cup in Poland since 2009, 16 years ago, and the third ever in Poland.

The World Cup will be held in the Market Grand Square right in the centre of Kraków. Let's hope for good weather. It is expected to be sunny on both days, with a high of 22ºC on Saturday and 27ºC on Sunday.

There are 122 athletes, 67 men and 55 women, registered to compete from 24 countries. Kraków has 50% more athletes than Denver did.

Who to watch out for?

There is a full 5-man Indonesian team registered for Kraków, including Alfian Muhammad Fajri, Raharjati Nursamsa, Kiromal Katibin, Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi, and the Olympic champion Veddriq Leonardo. Kiromal has been dominating the World Cup series so far with 3 medals, 1 gold and 2 bronze.

Kraków will be Reza Alipour Shenazandifard's first competition this year. He last competed at the Asian Championships in Tai'an last year. There is also a 6-man Kazakhstan team, including Amir Maimuratov, Rishat Khaibullin, and youngster Damir Toktarov.

Yaroslav Tkach and Hryhorii Ilchyshyn will be competing. They both went sub-5 at the European Speed Cup in Zakopane, Poland, last month. There is a 5-man USA team with Sam Watson, Zach Hammer, Michael Hom, Noah Bratschi and Ben Jennings.

The Chinese team remains much the same, with standouts Jianguo Long and Shouhong Chu being the only medal contenders on the team. Xu Li and Jie Yang did both reach the final in Denver. Marcin Dzienski is one of the 5 Polish men competing at their home World Cup.

The Polish women's team has dominated Speed climbing over the last 5 years, and they have 10 athletes competing in Kraków. Aleksandra Miroslaw, Aleksandra Kalucka, and Natalia Kalucka are all registered to compete at home.

Yafei Zhou, Lijuan Deng and Shaoqin Zhang return as part of the 6-strong Chinese women's team. Adi Asih Kadek and Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi are part of a full 5 athletes Indonesian women's team in Krakow. This is the second competition this year with a full Indonesian women's team competing.

There is a 4-women strong USA team with Olympians Emma Hunt and Piper Kelly. Isis Rothfork and Sophia Curcio join them.

Leslie Adriana Romero Pérez and Carla Martínez Vidal are competing for the Spanish team, while Jimin Jeong returns to compete after skipping Denver. Regular finalists Beatrice Colli and Giulia Randi are also competing for the Italian team.
